Sell Your Home Faster

Kathleen Magat February 29, 2024

In my experience, landscaping is one of the best ways that sellers can update their curb appeal. The good news is you can even do it yourself! Updating your home’s landscaping increases the value of your home, and helps sell it quicker- which we know is important.

#1 Check The Trees
Make sure tree limbs aren’t overgrown. They pose a structural threat to your home and may obstruct the view from the road interfering with the curb appeal. Remove any dead trees on the property for safety reasons.

#2 Mulch The Beds
Mulched beds should look clean and tidy and support a variety of growing environments for many plants. Did you know that good mulch keeps weeds away? Choose a black or red variety mulch for maximum contrast against your flowers and foliage.

#3 Trim The Hedges
Trimming the hedges and getting all the weeds out doesn’t make the house look neglected. Varieties like boxwoods and holly need a trim about twice a year.

A Saturday afternoon doing yard work can make a huge difference in how your home shows. Or if you’d like to hire someone, I recommend FT Landscape & Design. I’ve personally used them and they do quality work!
